It’s Fall and another jam-packed weekend is ahead of us! Everyone needs to KIT (Keep it Together) so you don’t miss any of the cool stuff. There are some really great events going on – this is the last weekend of the State Fair – THIS IS NOT A DRILL – get there if you haven’t already for some fried goodness. There is also Pug-O-Ween (Dogs in Costume NEED I SAY MORE?), Heels that Heal Gala, Park & Palate at Klyde Warren, and you can bring out your inner Indiana Jones at the Plano Archeology Fair!

Again, this is NOT A DRILL! If you haven’t gone – get thee to the fair! Bring 4 cans of food for donation to State Fair gates any Wednesday of the Fair and receive a coupon for a $4 admission ticket. One (4 can) donation per person. Discount may not be combined with any offers. If you’re going on a Thursday, check their website and the MAP/GUIDE onsite for great deals. Tucker Hill Pumpkinville

One of McKinney’s most popular fall celebrations returns as Southern Land Company hosts its fifth annual “Tucker Hill Pumpkinville. McKinney Christian Academy will once again be the non-profit partner and benefactor, receiving all proceeds generated by this community event. All Pumpkinville special weekend activities are open to the public and most activities are sponsored and funded by Southern Land Company. These include: • Tractor-Pulled Hay Ride to See Community’s Fall & Halloween Décor • DJ Event Host Coordinating Games, Activities & Music • Chick Fil Lunch Option in conjunction with Bake Sale or Concession Stand (Purchase required) • Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Costume Contests, plus more.

Texas Veggie Fair

This is a FREE event and it’s DOG friendly! If you haven’t gone before, it’s a great experience. Celebrate with vegetarian food, products, live music, speakers, games, activities + information which promote healthier, kinder, more sustainable choices which lessen pain and destruction to people, animals and planet. The event is organized by an all-volunteer team, passionate about this message. This is the largest VegFest in Texas.

2016 Plano Archaeology Fair

The annual 2016 Plano Archaeology Fair includes numerous activities and provides an opportunity for children to learn about Native American culture and early settlement of Plano.  This is a family friendly event and is FREE to the public! Activities will include corn grinding, pictographs, rock painting, petroglyphs, face painting, cornhusk dolls, Ojo de Dios, pottery making, Atlatl throwing, hands-on excavation (special reservation only, see site for details).

Sachse FallFest Howl-o-ween Paw Parade and Pet Costume Contest

Sachse Fall Fest features over 100 arts and crafts vendors, over 12 food vendors, contests, games for children, teens and adults and live music from local musicians throughout the day! Last year’s event was a huge success that they are adding even more entertainment and fun including more variety in food vendors, games and family fun!

The Jernigan’s Swamp Tour and Ghost Walk

The Jernigan’s Swamp tour is a trolley ride to Finch Park, formerly known as Jernigan’s Swamp. Guests will board the trolley at Chestnut Square for the short journey to Finch Park where guests will get off the trolley to enjoy a storytelling show of historic ghostly legends. At the conclusion of the show, guests will board the trolley to be taken back to Chestnut Square. The combination ticket also includes entrance into the Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk.

Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum
September 17 through November 25
Gourd is an awesome word. Go see some. This year’s event will highlight the “Art of the Pumpkin.” The Imaginative Pumpkin houses with over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash, along with 150,000 beautiful fall blooming plants. Don’t miss this amazing festival and be ready to light up insta with your genius photos.
