The big Turkey Day is almost upon us! There are some awesome events coming up this weekend that you don’t want to miss including the Lantern Festival – which has 1000s of folks releasing paper lanterns in one big kumbayah. And there are s’mores, too!

2nd Annual Homebrew Throwdown

Celebrate North Texas Beer Week at the Panther Island Pavilion’s Shack. Part homebrew contest, part beer festival, the Homebrew Throwdown will once again feature an all-star judge panel, NTX beer sampling from a dozen or so breweries, a Q&A panel and award ceremony.

The Trains at NorthPark benefiting Ronald McDonald House

The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark features trains rolling across 1,800 feet of track on a journey across America. Cityscapes include New York City’s Time Square and Grand Central Station, Washington D.C.’s White House, New England’s fall foliage, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Albuquerque’s hot air balloons, and of course, Dallas’ Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, State Fair of Texas, Cotton Bowl, Perot Museum, Southern Methodist University and more. 3rd Annual Brewer’s Ball

Project Warm Us Donation Drive

Project Warm Us is partnering with Frisco Square to get some much needed warmth to the homeless in Dallas, Texas. Their goal is to collect as many warm clothing items as they can by Thanksgiving 2016. If you haven’t been to ICE! You totally have to check it out. It’s an amazing walk-through wonderland that is completely made of ice! It’s cold – 9 degrees – so be sure to dress warmly under the coats they let you borrow. It’s 2 million pounds of ice that is sculpted into hand-carved sculptures, and they have 5 2-story tall ice slides that you can slide down.

This year’s event will highlight the “Art of the Pumpkin.” The Imaginative Pumpkin houses with over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash, along with 150,000 beautiful fall blooming plants.
