12 Bars of Charity

Check out the 4th Annual 12 Bars of Charity in Uptown this weekend! The event has raised over $200,000 since it has started. The cost is $30 to join the festivities and you get a snazzy long sleeve shirt as well. They provide shuttle passes to take you to the bars where you can enjoy some great drink specials just for being part of the crawl. The charities they supports are the Friends of the Katy Trail, Dallas Margarita Socity, Leukemia Texas, The Birthday Party Project, Animal Rescue of Texas, Kidds Kids Ronald McDonald House of Dallas and Autism Speaks.

Harry Potter Magical Holiday Ball

Head over to the Barnes&Noble in Arlington in your fanciest muggle or wizard attire for a magical event inspired by the Yule Ball from the Harry Potter films. They will have festive holiday music, dancing and fun themed crafts. All ages are welcome, which a special family geared time from 6-8pm and more teen/adult geared time from 8-10pm.

December Downtown Plano Art&Wine Walk

Enjoy shopping local and drinking wine – two of my favorite things! This month’s theme is Traditions. There is a raffle at the end of each wine walk – so make sure you stay for the drawing! Shops will have special retail and restaurant sales and discounts just for the wine tour.

Searching for Santa at Globe Life Park
Dec 10- Dec 17 Tuesday–Saturday 10am-4pm
Check out Santa’s favorite spots in the Ballpark as it’s all decked out for the holidays while the kiddos get to enjoy a story time and the opportunity to write a letter to Santa and mail it off at the Texas “North Pole” malbox. Santa won’t be there during these dates, but he’ll be there December 17 at the kid’s zone! Rangers Captain will be there as well, and there will be a special Searching for Santa souvenir (say that five times fast), cooking decorating and much more! Details of Event


Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo

Even if the weather is a little colder – it’s a great time to visit the animals – get into the zoo for $7 from now until February! Check out the cute African Penguins and all the other amazing animals when it’s not blisteringly hot.

Wanderland In Downtown Dallas

Explore the beauty that is downtown Dallas – especially during the holiday season! Check out shopping, children’s activities, movie screenings, and even Santa! They are even showing “Christmas Vacation” on Friday! Get your shopping done then visit the free gift wrapping station at Unbranded. And finish off the weekend with great live music at the Pegasus Plaza and the Majestic Theatre with the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Polyphonic Spree.

A Season of Merriment and Melody at the George W. Bush Presidential Library
Now – Jan 8
The Library brings back a festive celebration with this special exhibit – the staff has designed and crafted vignettes depicted classic holiday songs on mantels and pier tables throughout the White House in 2004. They are bring back 12 of this amazing displays for the public to view at the Library. The also have an 18-ft recreation of the White House Christmas Tree with ornaments from 2004 as well. There will be a free musical performance in Freedom Hall on Friday, Dec 9 at 10am.
