Oh Gourd, it’s Fall! Time for pumpkin patching, hay riding, corn mazing and cider drinking! Seriously, Fall is my JAM so I am gonna snitch on some pumpkin patches you need check out. It’s a great time to get outside because it’s not a bajillion degrees outside. Why is Texas hotter than the Sun? Why do we carve up vegetables with faces? Why do we race through stalks of corn? These are questions we will never have answers to. Whatevs. Just grab your family and friends and head over to some of these great patches for some fall festiveness.

Autumn at the Arboretum
Sept 17 – Nov 23

The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch

You will find hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, cornstalks, hay bales, baked good and some great refreshments and food including kettle corn, corn dogs, hamburgers and pumpkin bread. Picnic tablel are provided for individual use – but use by any large groups or parties must be reserved and confirmed. All activities are FREE. They have 2 corn mazes – one for younger kids and one for older kids and adults.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze

The farm is nestled between Dallas and Fort Worth in Grapevine. They got pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, hay bales, corns stalks and more! General admission is FREE. Hayrides are $5 Daylight rides/$3 Night rides. They have 2 acres of towering corn stalk with some unbelievable twists and turns and dead ends. No pets and no professional photography sessions are allowed. Concession stands include Pop’s Kettle Corn, Texas Style Brisket and Pulled Pork, and hot cider. They only take cash.

Preston Trail Farms
Gunter, TX
Sept 17-Nov 23 8am-8pm Mon-Sun
Big Orange Pumpkin Farm is $8 for admission on Sat/Sun which include feed for petting barn, a hayride, the roping pen, and admission to the hay maze (bonus if you go Mon-Fri, you get a pumpkin pie, too). Check out a whole bunch of pumpkins – including pumpkins growing on the vine. They also have a café on site and a a country store.

Come visit their wooden sanctuary in Rockwall! Enjoy a petting zoo, a hayride across the 13 acre property and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes that are for sale. Great for photography. Admission is $7/person, Under 1 year old is Free. Admission includes hayride, feed for petting zoo, complementary hot dog on weekends. Accepts credit cards.

They celebrate two seasons at the Wintergreen Farm – Fall and Christmas. In the Fall, they have a pumpkin and gourd patch and also have hayrides and fun activities for kids. NO fee for admission, but some of the activities have a cost.
